It’s Not About Trump

Politicians don’t care about you. At least, not as much as they care about staying in office and climbing the ranks. And we know this.

History has shown us the selfish nature of politicians for thousands of years. And we don’t even have to go back that far in time.

Over a century ago, the 18th president Ulysses S. Grant tried to siphon millions of dollars in whiskey tax revenues from the US treasury. At around the same time, a congressman called William M. Tweed became one of the richest men in New York thanks to bribes and hundreds of other criminal activities.

Less than 50 years ago, president Nixon and his closest cohorts were caught breaking into a Democrat office to find dirt on their opponent’s to secure a victory in ‘72.

In the ‘80s, the Reagan administration negotiated with terrorists and secretly sold weapons to Iranian rebels against the will of Congress.

And in 2016 America elected a president who thinks fallen US soldiers are “losers” and “suckers”.

Despite Trump’s anti-patriotic views, I don’t think his supporters got conned into a bad deal. In fact, I believe they got what they wanted. Not a great statesman, or a person who is well versed in politics, but a man who can piss off their enemy like no other: the ‘libtard.’

Putting Trump in the Whitehouse was the best way for his supporters to flip the bird at the elite left.

Every time left organisations got outraged about Trump’s latest political fiasco and screamed for him to be impeached, Trumpists laughed. Trumpists never believed the president was anything but a sexist dope.

That’s why maga supporters continue to stand by him: it’s not about Trump, it’s about ‘owning’ the libs.
