A Reminder We Could All Use

Health problems, waking up alone, a low wage with rising grocery prices, long commutes, stuck in a job that sucks harder than a black hole with an Only Fans—life can be pretty messy. And it’s tough to accept because most of us don’t want to settle for anything less than good.

Unfortunately, many areas of your life will be far from it. Imperfection is the name of the game we’re all playing.

And we have far less control over what happens on the board than we’d like. We can’t even choose the token that we play with.

That’s why it’s unhealthy to freak out when things don’t turn out the way we want, or to despair when things don’t improve fast enough.

You’ll go bananas all the time.

Instead, appreciate the things in your life that are going well. And trust that you’re doing all the right things for the rest to catch up.

We may not really know how to win the game or avoid defeat, but we can at least enjoy the times our dice rolls get us ahead.
