Everyone Has A Vondelbunker

Have you found yours?

Whether you’re a working stiff looking for a job, a freelancer looking for a client, or an entrepreneur looking for a customer—you’re selling a story.

The most difficult thing is figuring out what that story is.

Let me give you an example.

If I invite you to have a couple of brewskis at a café, you’re probably not giddy from excitement.

But if I ask you to meet up for a cold one inside a repurposed nuclear fallout shelter, you’ll likely rush over with an extra spring in your step.

That’s the importance of a good story.

If people aren’t elbowing each other out of the way to hire you or to buy your products, there’s largely three reasons:

One, your story isn’t turning any heads. Call in the demoman and start over.

Two, you aren’t meeting expectations. Gain more experience and step it up.

Three, not enough people care. Pack it up and pick a busier spot.
