Give Them A Reason To Care

Whether you’re raising money for a project, hosting a charity event, or giving a presentation, you always need to remember: everybody is driven by emotions. People don’t care about facts and spreadsheets.

We want stories.

We don’t do something because it’s the right choice. We do stuff because it feels right.

We follow our hearts. We get behind our beliefs. And we support leaders who touch our souls.

So if you catch yourself coughing up numbers and graphs, you’re probably not giving your audience a reason to care.

Give them a powerful story, however, and the interest will come.
