No Win Situations

Life isn’t always fair. You can do everything right and still lose.

You can have an immaculate GPA and SAT score and not get into Harvard. You can train harder than everyone and come in second. And you can be the best employee and lose your job.

That’s not unjust, that’s life.

Just because it didn’t work out doesn’t mean you did the wrong things.

After all, life is about probability, not certainty.

That’s why you want to look at life as a game of poker: play the games where the probabilities are in your favour and fold when the odds are against you.

That way you can play the most games before running out of chips. And if the cards aren’t stacked against you, you’ll win more than you lose.
