The Greatest Misconception About Happiness

There are many misconceptions about happiness. But none so pervasive as believing that other people are happier than you.

Along with health care, semiconductor chips, and affordable housing, serotonin is also a scarce commodity in today’s economy.

So don’t torture yourself thinking others feel better.

Instead, I offer you a pretty realistic and unappetising model of human happiness:

One-third of the time you’ll feel amazing, one-third of the time you’ll feel fine, one-third of the time you’ll feel shitty.

Does that describe your life so far?

Then you’re doing pretty well. Keep it up.
