Squaring The Circle

Existence is creating a beautiful and ever-changing melody. Nothing really ever sticks around forever. Even the dinosaurs only lasted for about 200 million years. Hardly an eternity.

We, eternal souls trapped in meat bags, feel like we should always be part of the melody. Us humble folk reckon we’re a timeless classic.

But as it is now, there’s no guarantee we will stick around forever. That’s why we’re working hard to create our ever-lasting legacy ourselves.

But what we’ve actually done, is given ourselves an impossible job. How do you stop the unstoppable?

Admittedly, going mano a mano with Death is probably the most exciting game we will ever invent. But most of us do not consider it a game.

To most of us, the idea of beating up the Grim Reaper is very real. And we are seriously committed to achieving that goal. Not understanding that it is a goal we can never achieve.

You’re going to eliminate dying? Really? What’s next, an infinite pizza oven, a car that runs on stress, or a flying refrigerator that flies to the supermarket to restock itself and then swoops down in our kitchen again?

The fallacy that we can beat a law of nature comes from the power of words. We feel that if we can think or speak it, it must be possible.

But that’s not how it works.

Our ambition to pummel the Soul Collector into submission is just as absurd as drawing a circular square. Good luck with that.
